Dictatorship Democracy
Dictators of all stripes have been long known to use the buzz words like "freedom", "human rights", "transparency", "progress", "reform", "modern", "new" and "values" to cover up the basest, crudest drive which boils down to the plain old greed and lust for power. In the political jargon which has been perverted to the point where the exact opposite denominator is given to real intentions and actions, the word "democracy" takes the first place as the most abused term, often used to cover up the outright dictatorships.
One only needs to take a look at every political group and party with the most xenophobic, most extreme, entirely fascist designs and objectives, to see that every single one has invariably added "democratic" to its name. It sounds nice and, apparently, means nothing nowadays.
Only in this way was it possible for every Albanian terrorist group, headed by the KLA war criminals like Hashim Thaci, Ramush Haradinaj and Agim Ceku, to call their parties "democratic". When they were terrorizing Kosovo-Metohija population under arms, they were called "freedom fighters". Now, after they have achieved part of their fascist designs, they are all "democrats", often even promoted in the West as exemplary democrats -- they respect the will of the people.... as long as there are no Serbs and other non-Albanians among the 'people', and as long as the 'people' are sufficiently quiet and obedient, willing to go along. If not, then so much the worse for the people.
The actual sad part is that this is not something Albanian terrorists have invented. It is merely one of the important things they have learned to imitate from their Western mentors: you just say the nice and proper things, you don't really do them. The words are cheap and used as a smokescreen, enabling the elite to do all the bad things they want to do, while pretending to have the best of intentions.
Take a look at a tragic wasteland of the "democratized" Eastern Europe, where each of the American satellites is run by the identical circle of hand-picked sycophants who live to serve the US State Department. They are all the same nowadays, from Hungary to Ukraine, from Poland to Serbia -- you can't tell one from another, simply because they all went through one and the same "democratic revolution", they have all been subjected to the one and the same "democratic reform" and have gone through one and the same "transition process" (a politically correct term for the unabashed plunder), and they all have the one and the same government installed by Washington.
DS/G17 Obstructionism Brought the State to a Standstill and Led to Dissolution of Blocked Government
That Serbian President Boris Tadic's "Democratic Party" is no different, and certainly no more 'democratic' than Hashim Taci's, for example, has been demonstrated on many occasions, especially immediately after the party's late president Zoran Djindjic came to power, when a merciless state-wide persecution of all political opponents ensued, resulting in firing more than 40,000 employees almost overnight, many of whom had far more expertise for the positions they held in various corporations and businesses than the unexperienced, oftentimes poorly educated Democratic Party cadres who were rewarded for their political loyalty with the managerial, directorial and ministerial posts straight from the streets and coffee shops.
Late DS leader Djindjic's dictatorship was replaced by Tadic's who, with the rest of his and G17 party leadership, after the assassination of Zoran Djindjic, suspended the Constitution in 2003, taking all the power levers in their hands and, for a while, installed an entirely overt, bold face dictatorship in Serbia.
The cunning dance choreography Tadic and Dinkic [G17 leader] followed during the brief time they were forced to put up with Premier Kostunica's party (probably the only truly and genuinely democratic party in Serbia with that denominator), was cheerfully ended the moment DS thought it can freely take over all the power once again, after the January presidential elections which Tadic won by the slimmest of margins (with barely a 100,000 votes more than SRS Tomislav Nikolic). DS and G17 ministers immediately opened their cards and begun blatant obstruction of the government work, gloatingly outvoting the smaller group of Kostunica's ministers on every single issue related to the state and national interests. The DS/G17 arrogance which turned government sessions into plain mockery, and effectively led to a total standstill, blocking both the economy and political activities of the state in the most sensitive moment for the Serbian nation and state, could have only been resolved with dissolution of a government rendered impotent and unable to govern, which led to the new parliamentary elections.
Flying in the Face of Cold Hard Numbers
But the real dictatorship isn't as easy to throw off as CIA would make one think -- those with insatiable thirst for raw power, such as present-day "democrats" like Tadic and Thaci, simply won't let go, no matter what is the real will of the people expressed in cold hard numbers. And that is the precise moment when dictators of all colors let go of pretense and show their real face.
Before the votes for the parliamentary elections were even fully counted, Tadic stepped onto the stage to warn "his people" that he intends to prevent any attempt to form the government which would exclude his coalition from the governing. Those who justified their president's threats with the "electoral euphoria" were quickly disappointed when Tadic continued to repeat the same threat in the following days, until today: no-one will be allowed to form a government in Serbia without his party and coalition partners. Like all the power-drunk dictators, notorious for confusing their personal wishes with the "will of the people", Tadic too insists that the will of the people equals his own.
When the intense courting and pressures exerted on Serbia's Socialist Party failed to prevent them from forming coalition with Kostunica's Democrats and Nikolic's Radicals on the level of Belgrade government, Tadic party's functionary, currently at the post of temporary Belgrade mayor, Zoran Alimpic, received instructions to simply refuse to allow forming of the new Belgrade Assembly, by delaying the Municipal Assembly session to July 14. All in hopes that Socialists will be persuaded to move over to Tadic's Yellow camp by then, and that the Yellows will remain in power both in the capital and throughout Serbia after all.
Yellows' Horseplay Aggravates Belgraders
As the Yellows are showing more and more of their true face under pressure, the flattering lies and empty slogans are also slowly beginning to lose their hypnotic power. So, now, even the DS supporters are starting to side with the former political opponents.
To the utmost surprise, among them is also one of Tadic's most adamant supporters and one of the staunchest opponents Serbia's Radicals and Socialists have, President of the Socialdemocratic Party Zarko Korac, who went public saying he supports the protests of the coalition formed around Kostunica's DSS, calling Alimpic to do the right thing and schedule the constitutive session of the Belgrade Assembly immediately, allowing the new government to be formed.
"According to the democratic rules, the constitutive City Assembly session has to be called right after the Assembly majority is formed. They are the majority, they have won most of the city MP mandates, and it is their right to elect the mayor," Korac said.
"I know the purpose of scheduling the session as late as July 14 and I understand that someone is doing this for political reasons. There isn't much fair-play in politics, but a man should act in accordance with his moral principles. I don't appreciate this type of horseplay," said Korac.
Crawling Dictatorship of the Caviar Left
Aleksandar Antic, President of the Belgrade Socialists Board, believes leader of the Socialdemocrats has worded the opinion shared by the greatest majority of Belgrade citizens.
"Alimpic's tactic is undemocratic and illegal. This is what most Belgrade citizens think. We are determined to make Zoran Alimpic change his decision, which is neither democratic nor legal, and to have him schedule the session of the new City Assembly in the shortest possible timespan," Antonic said, adding that they are "resolute to prove they have both the coalition and the parliament majority, determined to form the new government".
Dragan Todorovic of the Serbian Radical Party pointed out that this behavior has finally revealed the true face of the DS, showing their thirst for power can be compared to a form of "crawling dictatorship".
"There is an old Serbian saying that 'the snow doesn't fall to cover the hill, but so that every beast would show its [real] tracks'. The session was scheduled as late as July 14, because they know our coalition agreement can be annulled, and that is what they are hoping for. In the meantime, they are removing the documents from the public firms and signing new agreements with their suppliers in order to swindle a bit more. Voiding those agreements will be the first thing we shall do when we take Belgrade over", Todorovic said.
Member of Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia, Djordje Mamula, compared the present situation in Belgrade to the one from the year 2000 when the Djindjic/Tadic DS was the main power in Serbia, and have stripped Kostunica's party of 45 MP posts.
"After the Djindjic assassination in 2003, they imposed the state of emergency and used it to violate the basic human rights, which Serbia's Constitutional Court confirmed. They have never distanced themselves from that period and now, reacting nervously, they are attempting to hold onto power with their teeth, which doesn't surprise me. DS is the representative of the Caviar Left, which after the [Socialist] International pops the champaign. Their political programme fits in a single sentence: Profit is above the people", Mamula said.
